What will I learn in Sociology?

The discipline focuses on a better understanding of the social world we live in today, the people that make up society, who we are and how we fit in the world around us. Sociology will teach you to have a better understanding, both theoretically and empirically, through various topics like culture, identity, family, religion, media, crime, deviance, race, ethnicity, environment, and gender relations amongst others. In this way, you will become familiar with the social structures that constitute people on a day-to-day basis.
