Admissions Policy

MC Course

Entry Requirements for Academic Year 2023-2024

  Regular Students

Students must be in possession of five (5) passes* at SEC/O level (MQF level 3), which must include at least 2 subjects from Maltese, English Language and Mathematics.

* Passes must be in:

(i)  the Secondary Education Certificate (SEC) at Grade 5 or better

OR

(ii)  MQF Level 3 for those subjects not offered by MATSEC

OR

(iii)  DQSE accredited GEM 16+ Level 3 certificate (equivalent to one pass)

Students choosing the MC course are kindly reminded to refer to the important notice below.

  Probationary Students

Students, who are not in possession of the full entry requirements but are going to sit for the SEC second  session (September 2023), can apply as probationary students.

To be able to apply as a probationary student, students need a minimum of three (3) passes at SEC/O Level at grade 5 or better in the June 2023 session.

Students choosing the MC course are kindly reminded to refer to the important notice below.

AIO Course

Entry Requirements for Academic Year 2023-2024

  Regular Students

Students must be in possession of four (4) passes* at SEC/O level (MQF level 3).


* Passes must be in:

(i) the Secondary Education Certificate (SEC) at Grade 5 or better  

OR

(ii) MQF level 3 for those subjects not offered by MATSEC

OR

(iii)  DQSE accredited GEM 16+ Level 3 certificate (equivalent to one pass)

IPAL Course

Entry Requirements for Academic Year 2023-2024

  Regular Students

  • The IPAL course is open to students who completed a two year 6th Form Course or are 18 years of age (by 31st December 2023) and over.
  • GCHSS students, who are reapplying for this course, can only do so upon satisfactory achievement in the previous year.

Students choosing the IPAL course are kindly reminded to refer to the important notice below.

IMPORTANT NOTICES

  • The application for probationary students is only available during the first call.  The second call will only be open for regular students.  Therefore, it is recommended that all students apply during the first call, where possible.
  • All students joining a course at Giovanni Curmi Higher Secondary School agree to abide with the official GCHSS Policies.  To view these policies, click HERE
  • Students, who require support because of different educational needs, must provide their statementing report and any MATSEC examinations access arrangements they had in the past.
  • Students, who sit for the September 2023 examination session, must satisfy the entry requirements for Regular Students.  Othewise, they will not be allowed to start their studies at GCHSS.
  • For all courses, subject choice is dependent on availability and timetable constraints.
