What will I learn in Music?

You will learn advanced theory skills, namely harmony and counterpoint, as well as history of music and analysis of set works. You will also have tutorials and practicals and can choose between performance (singing or playing an instrument) and composition as a specialisation. Choosing music at GCHSS will surely equip you with the necessary skills to become a better musician and will provide a gateway to further studies at University level, thereby opening doors to various career prospects within the music industry.  

How will I benefit from studying Music?

You will be exposed to various genres of music and will be taught to understand their historical context. You will improve your knowledge of your chosen instrument, adding more music to your repertoire, and will gain the necessary skills to write better music.
